On the same day as Dr. Donda West’s funeral in Oklahoma City, the surgeon some say may be responsible for her death, Dr. Jan Adams was scheduled to appear on CNN’s Larry King Live. In an interview the veteran television host had with Anderson Cooper’s 360, King revealed that eight minutes before airing, Adams stated that he would not be interviewed.
In an unusual turn of events, Dr. Adams appeared on the show, briefly stating that he was not going to speak out of respect for the West family. After Larry King suggested they discuss other matters besides West’s death, such as Adams‘ DUI charges and past legal woes, the guest stood up, removed his microphone and left the set. According to Larry King, this is the first such occurrence in over 50 years of his career in television. The host reminded the guest, “But you came here to talk,” as Adams left the set. King also added that Adams’ attorney mentioned a “cease and desist” from the West family. Anderson Cooper added that such a suit is impossible involving a medical interview, nor would Adams‘ speaking violate patient confidentiality.
Larry King added that Dr. Adams remained offstage during the live airing, and even attempted to buy a show producer dinner for the stress he caused. Meanwhile the veteran show host has offered to postpone a vacation on Wednesday if Adams will agree to appear again. No statement has been given from Kanye West or his family on the incident.
The mother of Kanye West died this past week due to what reports call “surgical complications” this past weekend in Los Angeles. A full medical report with cause of death remains several weeks away.

Wow…interesting.
I don’t know too much about Dr. Adams, but not a good look walking out on the show, especially when you’re already seated on the air….not sure why his people wouldn’t just call in prior to physically appearing on the show. The way Dr. Adams appeared and made the claim he was leaving out of respect for the West family, doesn’t seem right because he didn’t even stay or send a statement to defend allegations and lawsuits against him that have nothing to do with Dr. West.
I’m sure there will be more to come from Dr. Adams.
Meanwhile, Kanye is coming under fire for going on tour at this time. Some are questioning how he can continue his touring and he hasn’t really had a chance to grieve. I think different people grieve differently, we don’t all process our emotions and feelings in the same way. I have no doubts that he is in pain for the loss of his mom, it was obvious how close they were.
I think we should just let him do what he needs to do to move forward.
